Winners of 4th Annual Altered Book Competition Announced
A Shakespearean mask, a nest, and stacked books were deemed to be the favorite exhibits at the Massanutten Regional Library fourth annual Altered Books Competition. Nearly 300 visitors cast their ballots for the top three entries of the competition. Voting was extremely close.
Janet Marshman of Harrisonburg won first place with her entry entitled "Shakespeare's Mask Muse." Second place went to Asha Hospach, also of Harrisonburg, with the entry entitled simply "The Nest." With perhaps our largest display ever, Chance Liscomb of Luray won third with his stack of books entitled "A Page Turner."
The winning entries will be on display for the month of April in the Main Branch and also the Oasis Gallery in downtown Harrisonburg. Non-winning entries should be picked up at Main no later than 4 pm Friday, April 13. Items that are not picked up will be recycled.
