"The True Story of the Three Little Pigs"--A Family Event in 6 Area Locations

6/9/2014
A wolf finally gets to tell his side of the story and area children will determine the ending of the play in Jon Scieska’s book adaptation of “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs,” a Roanoke Children’s Theatre production that has been described as a “Hip-Hop-ity musical that will blow the hair off your chinny chin chin.”

The play, a one-hour show, will be performed in six area locations as part of the Summer Reading Games of Massanutten Regional Library.  This event is free and open to the public.

Since opening in 2008, Roanoke Children’s Theatre goal is to provide educational outreach programming and theatre education classes.  RCT is the Valley’s only professional theatre designed just for children.

North River Library, Bridgewater, will host the first performance at the Bridgewater Municipal Building Thursday, June 26, 11 AM.  The Roanoke Children’s Theatre will then travel to Grottoes Branch Library Thursday afternoon, June 26, 4 PM.

Shenandoah Community Library and Elkton Community Library will host the Roanoke actors at the Shenandoah Community Center Friday, June 27, 11 AM.  Village Library will be the afternoon host June 27, 3 PM, at the Broadway Community Center.

The wolf’s viewpoint of the famous children’s tale will be presented at Page Public Library Saturday, June 28, 10 AM, followed by a performance at the Main Library that same afternoon, 2 PM.
