Popular Database Learning Express To Add New Programs

Reference librarians at Massanutten Regional Library recently announced that new practice testing programs will be added to the popular Learning Express database, available through the library’s website here. Learning Express is a world- renowned database used by individuals for obtaining information and practicing and testing skills in various areas.

Upcoming 2012 new programming for Learning Express will consist of:

  • NCLEX –RN Practice Exam
  • Praxis II: PLT: Early Childhood Practice Tests
  • Praxis II: PLT: Grades K-6 Practice Tests
  • Praxis II: PLT: Grades 5-9 Practice Tests
  • Praxis II: PLT: Grades 7-12 Practice Tests
  • PANCEPractice Tests (Physicians Assistant)
  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) Practice Assessments
  • Additional Praxis I PPST Practice Exams
  • Additional Border Patrol Exams
  • Additional, updated Civil Service Practice Exams,
  • ASSET Practice Tests
  • COMPASS Practice Tests
  • Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) Practice Exams
  • Additional SAT Practice Exams
  • More eBooks on Skill Building

With the database Learning Express, children and adults can improve test preparation and skill building courses. Specific skills can be addressed. One can improve skills in math or writing, prepare for the GED, perform job search and workplace skills, take popular software tutorials for programs such as Microsoft Word, or even practice taking a U.S. citizenship test.

In 2011 Learning Express offered new programming in the Chemistry Skills Improvement Practice, SHSAT Practice Exams, Culinary Arts Exam, the Veterinary Technician Practice Exam, Pharmacy College Admission Exam, Miller Analogies Exam, and others.

In-library Use Programs include ALLDATA, LexisNexis, Virginia Foundation Directory, Virginia Review Directory, and WestlawNext.

Eight programs on MRL’s website can be utilized at home. These programs include Dear Reader, Find It Virginia, Heritage Quest, Learning Express, Mango Languages, Newsbank, ProQuest, and Senior Navigator. One does need a library card for home access.

Massanutten Regional Library Main offers online testing for Driver Improvement Courses. One can take the tests at the Harrisonburg MRL branch. The courses are listed at the bottom of this page.
