Panera Bread Makes Donation
Panera Bread, an Operation Donation Partner to Massanutten Regional Library, presented a $1,300 check to the regional facility on Wednesday from its year-long collection efforts in the Harrisonburg store. Allie Munsey, Neighborhood Marketing Coordinator for Panera, made the presentation along with General Manager Christie Carrier and store employees to Kim Haines, Development Director for Massanutten Regional Library.
Panera supported Massanutten Regional Library with its Summer Reading Program, providing free bagel coupons and gift cards. The Harrisonburg store has also supported the non-profit library by allowing library program materials to be circulated in the business during certain weeks of the year. Operation Donation Partner boxes are at the Panera counter and work year-long to collect monetary donations for MRL. Panera has also contributed light dinner fare for Massanutten Regional Library Evening Programming.
“How marvelous that Panera chose Massanutten Regional Library as a partner to assist with its funding and operation!” says Cheryl Griffith, Community Relations Manager at MRL. “We saw firsthand how excited the children were in our Summer Reading Games to receive a free bagel coupon for their reading effort, and we know the children loved going to Panera for a special story time and for their cookies! Panera really has been hospitable to our library patrons. We appreciate their support tremendously. When you give to Massanutten Regional Library, you give to continuing education, and what better gift is there? Panera recognizes this, and we at MRL are most grateful.”
