MRL Announces Holiday Schedule
Elkton Community Library kicks off the holiday season with its second Holiday Open House slated for Sunday, December 1, 2-4 PM.
Elkton Branch manager Kimberly Sampson says musicians Ken "Bucky" Monger, (autoharp); Eric Wimer, (keyboard); Paul Harlow, (vocalist); and Tony Plume (vocalist) will be on hand to provide musical entertainment.
"Between musical performances we will have library patrons reading their favorite Christmas stories from their childhoods. Origami demonstrations will also happen throughout the event and we will have two holiday craft opportunities for the young and young-at-heart. The afternoon will conclude with a carol sing."
According to Sampson, a big hit at last year's event was the Elkton Community Library Memory Tree providing highlights of 2013 at the Elkton branch. "People are already asking about this year's tree," says Sampson. "The local garden club provides gorgeous live arrangements for the event," continues Sampson. "I didn't know what to expect when I planned the event for 2012. There were a number of other events happening in Elkton on the same date but the turnout was good and everyone seemed to have a great time."
