Understanding Wind Power Program
Massanutten Regional Library Main will present “Understanding Wind Power” with Bob Zickefoose, Master of Mechanical Engineering, on April 30th, 1 pm in the Main Meeting Room in downtown Harrisonburg. The adult program event is free and open to the public.
Zickefoose is currently an Assistant Professor at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyer’s Cave, Virginia. He teaches topics in Engineering Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Recently, BRCC has offered a Career Study Certificate in Renewable Energy. Courses taught by Zickefoose include studies in residential wind energy, solar photovoltaics, solar water heating, and residential cogeneration.
Prior to coming to BRCC, Zickefoose worked for 19 years at Advanced Energy in Raleigh, NC. While in North Carolina, he directed projects in renewable energy, energy storage, electric vehicles, NC GreenPower, and others. Zickefoose worked for companies in the 1980’s that manufactured residential wind generators and solar water heaters.
Zickefoose holds BSME and MBA degrees from Virginia Tech and Master of Mechanical Engineering degree from North Carolina State University.
