K-5 Stuff

These programs and activities are geared towards grades K-5, unless otherwise noted. Younger children welcome with a grown-up.

Upcoming Special Events

Winter Wonderland @ Main Library
Stop by on Saturday, December 20 @ 1pm for stories from Mrs. Claus, a holiday puppet show, and cookie decorating!

Santa & Mrs. Claus @ Page Public Library
All ages are welcome to come and let The Claus' know what you're hoping for Christmas on Monday, December 22 @ 10:30am.

STEM Saturday @ North River Library
Join the fun on January 10! We will design sleds and test how well they slide on different surfaces. Families with children in grades K-5 may drop by to create sleds between 10:30am and noon.

Silly Slinkys @ Main Library
Kids in grades K-5 join us for some fun with Slinkys Thursday, January 29 @ 4pm!

Cool Afterschool: These literacy based events will center around current events, holidays, author studies, books, and STEAM SOL-related fun activities. Crafty Kids: A new craft each month. Younger children welcome with a grown-up
LEGO Club: Let your imagination go WILD! Create and build with Legos. To help us build the program please consider donating legos to the library. Bigger blocks for smaller hands also available. Dogs 2 Read 2: Grab a book, get comfy and read to YOUR Library’s very own registered therapy dog. All reading levels are encouraged. Younger children are welcome with a grown up.
Kids Create: Come on out for a special hands-on STEAM program! Playful Puppets: You never know what our puppets will be getting into. All ages welcome.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Book Finder 
Please check with your school to make sure that they carry the AR test for the book you choose from the AR website. 

TumbleBooks are online, animated, talking picture books. These books are available for FREE to all library patrons, courtesy of the Library of Virginia!  Just click on the icon to the left to begin enjoying the TumbleBookLibrary!
