Kids Corner

For those tweens/teens in the house, check out the Youth Spot with information about fun things just for youth.

For kids in grades K-5 we have a special K-5 Stuff page just for special events geared towards them. These programs run during the school year, September - May.

Check out the Storytime Stuff page for storytime schedule geared towards ages 0-5. Storytimes run for approximately 8 or 9 weeks across the library system with a 2 week planning break in between sessions. 

Upcoming Special Events

Community Celebration Open House @ North River Library
Join friends, family and Library staff for cocoa and cookies following the Bridgewater Christmas parade on Saturday, December 6 from 12 to 1pm.

EMU's Preparatory Music Program @ Main Library
Children from ages 6 to 16 from the Program will perform on stringed instruments and piano. Come enjoy a variety of holiday songs and classical pieces Saturday, December 6 @ 2pm!

Holiday Open House @ Elkton Community Library
Stop in Sunday, December 7 between 2 and 4pm for holiday crafts, musical entertainment and holiday stories! And don't miss out on getting a look at Miss Kim's annual Memory Tree!

The Nutcracker @ Main Library
The Rockingham Ballet Company will return on Saturday, December 13 @ 1pm to perform a short portion of The Nutcracker ballet and read some holiday stories!

Winter Wonderland @ Main Library
Stop by on Saturday, December 20 @ 1pm for stories from Mrs. Claus, a holiday puppet show, and cookie decorating!

Santa & Mrs. Claus @ Page Public Library
All ages are welcome to come and let The Claus' know what you're hoping for Christmas on Monday, December 22 @ 10:30am.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Book Finder

Please check with your school to make sure that they carry the AR test for the book you choose from the AR website. 

Book Booster Literacy Hints from the Library of Virginia
