Village Library Expansion
Village Library has moved to a larger building on Broadway's Main Street. Help us fund this much needed expansion!
We have $30,000 to go for this $300,000 renovation and move.
Patrons love the new space at Village Library, and business is booming! We have received many positive comments on the comfortable adult reading area, the dedicated children’s area, library furnishings and the program room.
Village has moved up from third place to the second busiest branch in Massanutten Regional Library’s seven-library system. Use of Village Library increased as soon as we opened the new building, and it has been growing ever since. In May, 4,616 items were loaned out. In June, Village circulated 6,989 items.
In the past year Village Library:
held 137 programs attended by 1,181 people;
registered 698 children in the Summer Reading Games;
provided patrons with more than 6,000 hours of free computer use; and
answered 3,451 reference questions.
We are whittling away at the last $30,000 needed to pay the costs of the renovation and move. Make a gift, and encourage your friends and neighbors to support Village Library as well!
We appreciate donations of all sizes for this enduring community resource. We look forward to serving everyone in northern Rockingham County for decades in this wonderful new building.
The expansion of this busy and beloved branch was long overdue! Help us pay for the new, expanded Village Library!
